Business Intelligence - The Plain English Way
Some of Scotland's leading public and private sector organisations met in Perth today at a business seminar which aimed to show that getting fast and accurate business information need not be as frustrating as finding the proverbial needle in the haystack.MKD Training, of Glover Street, Perth, one of only two Scottish companies to specialise in the business intelligence (BI) software, Seagate Info, have invited decision makers from Stagecoach, Edinburgh Woollen Mill, Fife Council, Scottish Equitable, and the Forestry Commission, amongst others, to explore this Plain English equivalent for business information systems.
Seagate Info is designed to help organisations generate new dimensions in strategic information contained in existing databases - providing fast and accurate information to monitor activities such as market trends, opportunities and threats. Senior managers and executives at the seminar, a forerunner for a series of presentations planned by MKD Training for the New Year, also received complimentary copies of the £12,000 Seagate Info software to test in their own working environments.
Marion Archibald, Managing Director of MKD Training said: "Accurate and accessible information delivered on time and in the right way is a vital route to informed decision making in any organisation. Sometimes, though, this key information can only be accessed and understood by a few individuals within the company, and it can be difficult for other individuals/departments to access.
"Clients who use the Seagate software on a regular basis quickly find they come to depend upon its fast and accurate reporting of their data systems for day to day analysis and executive summaries or board reports. The 50 desktop licences included in the software provided by Seagate will give key staff, across a range of different organisations, a chance to test the software in their own working environments."
