Ancient Remedy Helps Lizard Beat the Cold

Five year old Harry looks to set beat the cold Scottish Winter, thanks to the efforts of Perth manufacturing company which makes copper collars to help ease the symptoms of pet arthritis in the same way that copper bracelets have relieved similar symptoms in human sufferers over the centuries.

A few weeks ago, FREEDOM COLLARS answered a plea for help from Peter Brown of Fife, to see if the copper collar could offer some hope for the family's pet iguana which was diagnosed as suffering from arthritis, last year. Since the diagnosis, Harry has needed a very warm home environment and a special diet to keep the symptoms at bay and, with the onset of the Scottish winter months, Harry's plight became ever more desperate.

The bracelets, devised by FREEDOM COLLARS for Harry, quickly produced some beneficial effects. The iguana stopped dragging his back legs and became much more interested in the activity around him. However, as the copper bands were difficult to keep in place, Harry could only gain periodic relief from his symptoms which have intensified in the cold winter nights.

A new harness design, which fits under Harry's belly and fastens up over his shoulders, means that he can comfortably wear the copper bands close to his skin 24 hours a day for maximum benefit.

Colin Currah, Managing Director of FREEDOM COLLARS, said: " We are delighted that we have been able to help Peter and Harry out. From the hundreds of customer results we have had over the last six months, we had every expectation that the copper would bring some relief for Harry. However, it proved a little more challenging than we first thought, to develop the copper-braid in a way that could be comfortably worn by an iguana 24 hours a day.

"Now that we have solved that problem, Harry can look forward to a Happy Christmas along with the rest of the family. " he added.
